 You can make the process a lot easier if you have strong contrast between the subject and background, if you remove background photoshop. If color is distinct, initial selection can be made easily using tools like Select Subject, Quick Selection or using the Magic Wand. For small edge areas, it is also recommended to use a layer mask after the initial selection to fix any missed pixels or background areas that were not selected in the original image but are still part of the selection process. Visuals Clipping recommends using a layer mask after the initial selection to be able to fix any missed pixels or unwanted background areas without permanently changing the original image.
